The Zimm Twins had their "First Vacation" last week. We went to Lake Bridgeport for a few days. It was far enough away from home to be a 'vacation' and close enough, if the Twins decided they didn't like it, we could come home! Luckily, they Loved It!!!!
Granddaddy and Daddy went fishing, skiing and wake boarding Friday night and Saturday morning. It was real hot so we stayed in Saturday afternoon.
Sunday, we got up early and went out on the lake. We were able to see Granddaddy waterski for the first time. Doug really watched him go back and forth and seem to really enjoy watching. Kate likes to sleep on the boat! The water sprayed us just a little, enough to get a laugh out of Doug.
The Zimm Twins made our first trip to a swimming pool while on vacation. We wore our life jackets and Grandmommy and Daddy took us in the water. Doug and Daddy liked to jump up and down in the water. Kate really liked laying on her 'head cushion' and having Grandmommy pull her around the shallow end. ~ Sunday afternoon it was really hot again, so we stayed in and watched movies while Mom took a nap!
Monday morning we got up early again and went back out on the boat. It was a beautiful day at the lake. Connie Jo and her sister Sheila drove over on their jet skis and we followed them back to their Dad's lake house. There, the Zimm Twins got in the lake water for the first time!
Tuesday, we drove to Wichita Falls to visit our friends the Trent, Amy, Hannah & Davis. We saw their new house, had lunch and did a little Wichita Falls shopping. Granddaddy took us to see his 2 aunts homes. We drove onto Oklahoma for the first time. Yet another "First" for the Twins, their first time out of Texas!!!! Granddaddy and Grandmommy took us to Lawton, OK and they found their old apartment from when Granddaddy was in the Army.
The Twins did very well away from home, they even slept well!! We had a great time and experienced a lot of "Firsts". ~ The Zimm Twins enjoy traveling!
