On October 2, 2008, the Zimm Twins had their 6 month doctor appointment.
Doug is now 17lbs. 8oz. 26 inches long
Kate is now 16lbs. 9oz. 25 inches long
The Zimm Twins are getting so big. It is amazing to watch them grow!!!! (Their carseats are getting a bit heavy!!!) Dr. Raine said they are both doing fantastic. Both received 4 shots in the legs. Neither of them liked the shots, but they recovered quickly!!!
We continue to eat more 'stage 1' food. Kate really does a great job of eating and for the most part, she is not too messy. She found that she has her Grandmommy's liking for sweet potatoes.
Doug doesn't much care for the real food. He likes green peas more than anything else. ~ I joke saying when we send Doug to college, we won't have to buy a meal plan for him, we will just have to send him with cases of Good Start or Enfamil... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We continue to experience "Firsts". Kate is sitting up with no support on a regular basis. She has learned to roll from tummy to back/back to tummy. She acts like she really wants to crawl; anyday now! Doug likes to roll from back to tummy, but still doesn't prefer his 'tummy time'. He is doing much better sitting up with no support, but he continues to slowly fall forward after a few minutes.
To celebrate Grandmommy's Birthday, the Zimm Twins made their first trip to Canton - First Monday Trade Days. It was yet another great trip. Kate & Doug were both real 'shopping sports' and put on a cute show for everyone who stopped to look at them.
WOW: What's that?!?! That is what Kate says when J.C. (our cat) gets close to her. Kate has started reaching for J.C. and quickly we tell her to 'pet not grab'. She is really doing a great job of not pulling on J.C. but the really 'good girl' is J.C. She lays and let's Kate touch her; for short periods of time! While Kate plays with J.C. Doug has a new found play toy... the Exersaucer. Like most toys the Zimm Twins have an Exersaucer at home and at Da's house (Granddaddy's office). During the day, Doug will spend long periods of time entertaining himself at Da's in the Exersaucer while strengthing his leg muscles. Then, when we arrive home in the evenings, he enjoys spending a few more minutes in the Exersaucer at home! Kate seems to enjoy the 'johnny jump up' at Da's.
On a daily basis, the Zimm Twins continue to be the 'supervisors' on Granddaddy's job sites! After a quick morning nap on Uncle David's desk, most days, the Zimm Twins load up with Granddaddy to make the rounds to the jobs and a stop or two at Home Depot. One of the current jobs is just down the street from the office, so most mornings, the Zimm Twins load in the jogging stroller and walk down to unlock the building for the workers!!!! All of the men that work for Granddaddy & Uncle David are really great with Kate and Doug. They all talk to the kids and hold them when necessary! They even have special names for the Zimm Twins: Katie and Dooooglas!!!!!!!!!!!
