The 2009 Boating Season has officially begun!!! The Zimm Twins made their way to Joe Pool Lake on Saturday for their first official outing of "Lake Season". Although, the Zimm Twins had been to the lake earlier in the year, to test drive Granddaddy's new engine; this was the first trip of the official season and the first time this year in the water!!!
Dressed for the trip, in their very stylish bathing suites and cover-ups, the Kate and Doug enjoyed the ride across the lake.
Doug has been doing "dry-dock" practice with Granddaddy, so he knew exactly where his little captain's area is on the boat. When the boat slowed and Doug began to look over the side, like he does in "dry-dock", Doug froze! What was that stuff under the boat, it wasn't concrete; it was moving!!!! After a little while, Doug 'got his sea legs under him' and enjoyed the rest of the trip. Kate hasn't done as much 'dry-dock' time, but she assumed her position on the boat very quickly.
For just a few minutes, Granddaddy stopped the boat and allowed the Zimm Twins to get in the water. Kate really enjoyed the water and was almost fearless. Doug was a little reserved, but wanted to put his face in the water. Thank goodness for the headrest on their life jackets, it made it easier to hold onto!
