After a few days of rain, the Zimm Twins finally got to go swimming today! As always, we are very excited to talk about going. Most mornings, Kate wakes up saying, "put bate suip hon". We talked in the car about going to Tiffany's today. When Mommy asked the Zimm Twins, "what do you do at Tiffy's?" The response from Kate and Doug, "kick kick!"When we arrived, the Zimm Twins were a bit nervous. But it didn't take long for both of them to warm up. We practiced sitting on the side of the pool, kicking our legs. That really excited Kate when she was able to kick water out of the pool! Then Tiffany took us for a dip. We struggled with kicking at first, but then we caught on. Pretty soon, Mommy remembered while the Zimm Twins sat in the car this week, they practiced kicking and the baby activity, "Patty Cake".

So, Kate started kicking and doing the roll'em up part of Patty Cake. Kate was so excited she wanted to practice her jumping to an adult and then kicking and moving her arms.
Doug was a bit more cautious during the entire practice. He just likes to drink the pool water (yuck)! Doug really enjoyed it when Daddy would take him to the middle of the pool and make really big waves!

When swim lessons were almost over, Tiffany agreed to let the Zimm Twins jump off the diving board (for an adult to catch them, of course). Kate hurried over to the board, walked calmly to the end, waited for Tiffany to count, "1, 2, 3" and then she jumped to her Daddy. Doug of course saw what fun Kate had and followed with no hesitation.

We had a very productive swim lesson today and a great time too! Thanks Coach T.
